Weekdays on Lite Rock 99.9
Weekdays from 10am-2pm
Cyn Bolsta delights us with her on-air presence every workday morning and afternoon from 9AM to 2PM on Lite Rock 99.9. Originally, Cyn is from White Bear Lake, Minnesota but came to the area when her family moved to St. Cloud just in time for her to start 9th grade at the brand new high school in town. After graduating from Apollo, as the first class to go all four years at the “new” school, she put in a year at St. Cloud State (before it was a University), and later graduated from Brown Institute. (Before it was a College.) After graduation, her dad set up a lunch with a man who knew a lot about radio. Al Leighton told the 20 year old fresh faced youngster to get some experience and then come see him.
After putting time in at KCMT in Alexandria, Al Leighton hired her at KCLD. She learned a lot in a short time, and then put in three years in Minneapolis (DISCO 104, WCCO FM) before heading west, vowing never to suffer through another Minnesota winter. Cyn spent the most time on the west coast in Portland, Oregon.
After her twenty seven year adventure in Oregon, she came back to be with her significant mother, and the Leighton’s welcomed her back. Prior to that, they kept her employed for over a decade in her many trips back and forth. In 2003, when her beloved dad went into an Alzheimer's care facility, she spent nearly a year doing afternoons, as Cyndi Wild, on Wild Country 99. (Now known as "that chick that warmed the chair up for Brook Stephens.") She's now heading into her fourth year (and fourth Minnesota winter) with Lite Rock 99.9, and delighted to be back with Leighton Broadcasting full-time and living in the same house she grew up in. Although she's quick to add: "You can grow up or you can be in radio, but you can't do both."
